IN AWE

You know, I am simply in awe of You,my Lord.....
That, even before the creation of this world, You thought of my existance, and desired me, to be with You!
Oh, how You must love me, inspite of all my "uglies".
You are so far beyond my comprehension,Lord God, to ever fathom how You do what You do,........or why.
It's enough to know that You love even me sweet Lord
Continue to draw me closer to You Father, and hold me upon Your beating heart. Move me in the deepest sense,to bring You pleasure, and know, kind Father, that as the deer pants for the water, my beating heart races, when I draw thoughts of You.....

SALT

In the days of Christ, royalty would present their newborn babies, by sprinkling salt on the baby, and then wrapping him up in tightly bound strips of cloth. This was to signify the covering of truth that they wished the newborn child would grow into.
In my way of thinking, salt is also a preservative, and how much more, would it preserve God's word, for His chosen children!
Now that's a preservative that I want to keep closely wrapped up in too!

YOU BETTER WATCH OUT !

You better watch out.....
You better not cry......
You better not pout......
I'm tellin' you why......

Jesus Christ is comin' to town!

He's makin' a list.....
He's checkin' it twice......
He's gonna find out......
Who's naughty and nice.......

Jesus Christ is comin' to town!

He sees you when you are sleepin'.....
He knows when you're awake......
He knows if you've been bad or good......
So, be good for goodness sake......

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,
Jesus Christ is comin' to town!
Oh, yeah!

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

After writing the journey about all the elements yesterday, and how they all recognized the Master's voice, something very profound dawned on me this morning.
See if it hits you, like it did me!

One day,EVERYONE.......
even those who profess unbelief in Christ, will bow down, and profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!
The only thing is........
They will only hear the Master's voice once.......
We will hear it for Eternity!

BOY HOWDY!

Boy Howdy, do I ever remember my Mother saying:
"Becky, eat your vegetables, so you will grow up strong!"
There were carrots for good eyesight;Popeye's spinach, for iron, and strength; The veggies would make my nose wiggle, if I ate enough;(yes, I can wiggle my nose now, too!)
I laugh over all these fun things, that I did as a child, but the one thing that I remember my Grandmother telling me, that I was sure I understood, was when she said to feed on the word of God, and you will grow strong in the Lord! .....Wow,I liked that!
The more you stay in God's word, the sharper your two edged sword becomes, and it will become stronger and stronger in enabling you to walk the walk, and talk the talk, and to defeat the adversary!

ANGELS UNAWARE

When my children were little, we would often drive on long road trips, and travel along backroads.I would often see an farmer on his tractor pluggin' along out in the field, so I would beep, and wave to him! My children would say:"Who was that,Mom?" To which I would reply:" I don't know, but I bet he could use a smile,or a friendly wave today, since he's by himself!"
I often think about that today, when I beep and wave at farmers in the fields on their tractors! (Yes,I still honk and wave!)
Gods word tells us that when we see someone in distress or in need.....(even if we don't know them)......to encourage or help them, as we might be "entertaining angels unaware."
Now,I've never seen an angel on a tractor, but if God can use a donkey to talk to Balam, then he can surely use an angel to drive a tractor!

LIFE WIDE OPEN

The ABF I'm in right now, is studying David Jeremiah's book,"Life Wide Open".
It's a great study, but personally, (as far as I'm concerned), the only way you can ever have a life wide open is,............ The Only Way!
And as you know, "THE ONLY WAY",is Jesus Christ!
Becky

BLOOM!

You can know everything, about how to plant flowers, but unless you get out there and "do it", you'll never have any blooms!

In the same manner, you can know all there is to know about how to plant the word of Salvation too, but unless you get out there and "do it", you'll never see people bloom with the love of Christ either!

PICTURE THIS!

Picture this........

The waves are tossing.....
The wind is ferociously blowing.....
The sea is angrily tossing and turning....... The lightning is crackling throughout the night time sky......
Somewhere an earthquake is erupting, and nearby, numerous fires have ignited.......
All the elements are fighting, and causing such havoc for those around.......
And then......
Suddenly, they hear something!
The waves; The wind; The sea;The lightning; The earthquakes, and The fires,.....they are all listening.......
Because, they hear a voice!
It's a voice they know well.
It's someone, with whom they spent the first moments of their existance......
It's the voice of The Master!

OUR OWN 911

The emergency numbers in the Bible are more effective to call upon than calling on 911......
Becky

GOOD AMMO

Just as a soldier can't do much to defeat the enemy, if he doesn't have any ammunition,so it is with us as soldiers of Christ.....
We can't defeat our adversary, satan,if we aren't loaded up with the word of God!
It just won't work!

I HAVE LEARNED

There are days, when I totally understand the message from the apostle Paul.
Those rainy; cold days, when my shoulder is hurting, and my back feels like a Mack truck has run into it!
Those days when every move is a challenge and looks like a "slow motion day".
Days when my brain, just doesn't get it, and I am wanting to throw my hands up in the air, but even that hurts too much to do!
Get the picture?
I look at the apostle Paul, and understand how, even in prison, he could say that he learned in "whatever his circumstances", he learned to be content. What a testimony!
Anything that happens to us, can ultimately be our own prison too, and if we let it, we can also be content, if we but keep our focus on the "One" who is ultimately Contentment personified......."Jesus Christ."
If it stays on Him,then whatever befalls us,won't last.......
But, Jesus will!
He will be our contentment, and that's the best contentment we can ever have!

HAVE I?

I feel as if I have already written this to you, but if I have, please forgive me, and chalk it up to my excited and somewhat addled mother of the bride "to be" testimony!
This is something that my God has done for me, as a little something special,.......... just for me!
Most of you know, that my daughter,Kelly, became engaged this past October. You also remember that several years ago, I lost my dear friend,of 50 years. Lois and I grew up together, and was a treasure to me, and I grieved deeply, when she went home to be with the Lord. She loved my Kelly, so you can imagine how absolutely awe struck I was, when I met Kelly's fiance's Mother, for the very first time, and she looked just like Lois! She had the same eyes and smile, and dear personality.
She is just as dear as Lois was, and I think I have found a new friend!
How like my God to send me a little nugget of His healing love and compassion,"for such a time as this".
How cool was that?

GOD DOES TOO!

Listening to David Jeremiah on the radio, this morning, talking about rudeness, and the common courtesy of kindness, reminded me of how thankfu, I was, growing up in the family God gave me!
I'm sure it wasn't the ideal family, but it surely seemed that way to me........ My sister was 13 years older than I,and I cherished her dearly....
I had three older brothers, whom I loved too!
Being the baby of five, was special to me.
I grew up being taught all those special courtesies, and extended them to everyone I met.
The door was always held open, and there was always a "yes mam",and "no thank you"......always!
Gentlemen always removed their caps,or hats when coming inside a room,(or in a restaurant), and you always looked someone in the eyes when you spoke to them......I guess I grew up being a big etiquette buff, and manners mean alot to this 'ole Mom. It is hard for me, when I don't see manners showing up in the young people anymore.
I am thankful that I have the Holy Spirit within me,to remind me of God's kindness and courtesies, that He bestows upon us daily.
I know I will respond alot quicker to a smile, than to a frown....
I imagine God will too!

TELL ME ABOUT JESUS

Now,King Hezekiah knew the Lord, and followed His laws, but he also had such desire for all his little other "important" projects.Along the line, though, he sort of neglected a very important issue right in his own home!
He failed to teach his own son,Manasseh, the ways of the Lord.
Now, when Manasseh grew to be king, he didn't rule, as a man of God, because he didn't know God's word!
Now, my Grandmother Bouterse had a wonderful ministry singing gospel music on the radio, with my Grandaddy, for a brief period, but she decided, that it was far more important, for her to remain home, in her humble little trailer, teaching her children and grandchildren , the word of God, so that they would grow up in the fear and admonition of the Lord!
I would say, that my Grandmother made a wiser decision, than King Hezekiah, and speaking for myself,I think that my brother Michael and I, surely have reaped the benefits from those special times,in that trailer too!

TO YOU & FOR YOU

O Father God,as I lie here this morning, snuggled under the covers, with this brisk chill in the air, and the covers over me,I am reminded of how You are my covering and protection from the chill of all the harmful things that await me outside. All the harsh elements in this fallen world are ready to besiege me at first light,O God,so surround me with Your protective and Almighty covering, as I start this day.Undergird my frail limbs with Your Mighty Word, so that I might stand against all the attacks from the evil one...... as I go forth this morning, let the words of my mouth, be of continual praise and thanksgiving unto You, and for You,sweet Lord of all.....

JUST IN TIME!

When Vic arrived here tonight, she arrived, just in time,to see the sunset. It was beautiful too. It was a bright pinkish/orange ball, that quickly descended beyond the horizon. What was so awesome, about this sunset, though, was the particular afterglo it left behind. It was pinkish in color, but it not only penetrated right above, where the sun had been, but it also seemed to cover the length of the horizon, as far as the eye could see.
How like us, too, when we see the "Son", as He sets in our hearts........ His love seems to just radiate outwards, and will glo for all those around us, whether near or far.
Our colors of mercy, tenderness, love and compassion should radiate throughout our neighborhoods, cities, and the nation....
The glo, from this Eternal "Son" will outlast any earthly temporary sun......

MY VERSE!

This has been so neat! While over at Edisto,I have been working on my Women's Life studies, and while perusing the "Psalms",I came across my life's verse!
It is soooooooo me.....so see what you think!
"I have set the Lord continually before me,
Because He is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.".........(Psalm 16:8)
Now, knowing me, as you do, and by what I write, through my
journey's, doesn't that sound like me?
I place my Lord, above everything, and I don't think there is anything that will shake my faith from Him!
Whooppeedogs!

WELCOME HOME!

When my Mother died, at the age of 89, in 1999, we had a memorial service for her, down in Mount Dora, that was most unusual in how it began......
I don't believe I have ever seen another one, quite like it, but it is so typical of how God would have all of us react, when going home.
At the beginnig of the service, my whole family was seated at the front of the church. As people began coming in, we just got up, and met them at the door,"welcoming them" into the Lord's house, and to Mother's "going home service".
It was a wonderful feeling to be able greet those who were coming "in love", rather than "through tears"......
I know, when I stood to read something that I had written, about Mother, I was encouraged from the happy faces out front!
Her service, was a reminder to me of the joy we will feel, one day, when we too, are welcomed "Home", with a grand celebration.
Only then, the King of the Universe, will welcome us with open arms!
Now, that will really be a welcome Home!!!

HE IS!

I watched another good movie today(for the umpteenth time)
"Field of Dreams" was a delightful depiction of a creative mind. When a young baseball rookie told Ray Kinsella(Kevin Costner) that baseball was the answer, and would never change,I had to shake my head and think how even that will someday change, but the word of God will never change!
It is our one true and sure word for all time. The Psalmist even said:" The precepts of the Lord are right; rejoicing the heart." We know if His laws and statutes are right and correct, then they will bring about rejoicing from within our heart.
If that hasn't changed in 2000 years, it isn't gonna ever change, so His word will never, ever change.....
He is.....and that is all there is to it!
Becky

DOMINOES JESUS

Let's see..........
We played "Dominoes Jesus".
That's where you search for the lost domino, hoping to match your own.The lost domino is in need of hearing the "word", so we would match him up with someone who could connect him to the word of God.(Don't laugh,I learned Dominoes and scripture this way!)
When we made "Guava Jelly Jesus", we simply strained out the impurities, from the Guavas, just as Christ did, for us, by straining out our impurities by taking us through the refiners fire. Our refiners fire just happened to be a cross on Golgotha.
In this way, the dross was removed, and only His image would show forth.
It was the "Embroidery Jesus" with its blind stitching that got me though. "You can hide alot of things,Becky, but God always sees us, as we thread our way through life," Grandmother Bouterse would always say. I think she pretty much had the scripture down. "Whatever you do,do it as unto the Lord."
I'd say,she surely did!.....Perhaps something like this.....
"Grandmother Bouterse Jesus"! :p)

SOON VERY SOON

Everyone's gone and I'm by myself at the beach house.
It's almost 11pm, and I'm lying here in bed, just listening to my music on "The Light", on this Saturday night. "Soon Very Soon, We Are Going To See The King".....My,Oh My,Yes!....When I look at all the things(and that's what they are!) going on around the world today,I could allow myself to become concerned over all the mishaps;earthquakes;fires, and all the strange happenings all over....not just in America, but in the world!
I don't though, because I have a God who is bigger than all of these put together, and He is the victor in all of them!
The best thing is, ....I'm on His side too!
That's why I like times like these.
My Lord.....
My beach house......
My music.......
Can't get much better than that......
Becky

AFTER GLO

Long after that glorious sun has set behind the horizon, here at Edisto, there is left, the most gorgeous afterglo, that lingers upon the horizon. It's a soft, but vivid reddish orange, that melts into a yellowish-blue. It is just beautiful,folks.....
It reminds me of how it should be with us too.
When we have been with the "Son", and His word, we should be giving off an aura of gentle radiance, that will allow people to know where we've been and with whom we've been with!
Becky

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

I had to explain to Olivia,Isaiah, and Araya, why we had to keep the lights off, here on the porch, at Edisto, during October.
The turtle hatchlings will follow the porch lights, when they are hatched, instead of crawling towards the water......and they will end up,dying!
We have spent many a night attempting to rescue many a straggling hatchling too!
However, we as humans, when we are born, need the light to live. We don't have to crawl to the light to live.We just have to accept it!
Jesus is the brightest light I know and His light is Eternal.
You don't have to be turned around with Him either. Just follow Him, straight into the Kingdom.....
Becky

THE COLORS ARE FLYING!

Oh, what a treat, this morning! I woke up, and before I had anything to eat,I walked out onto the porch, to see if it had rained, and there was the most stunning portion of a rainbow, that I have ever seen!
About a quarter of a rainbow was showing.....
Folks,it was stunning!
I have never seen such true colors in a rainbow either.
I called Nellah to find out if she could see it over in Beaufort, but she couldn't see it.
Later on,however, while she was at therapy, several ladies mentioned that they had also seen this same rainbow.
The daughter of one of the ladies, commented that"the colors are flying".
How cool, and how true for our God to fly His brilliant colors of Grace and Mercy above all the heavens for us to see! He always knows how to show off His stuff, doesn't He?
A marine might be able to say that "their colors don't run", but our God can truly say, that "His colors do fly"!!!
