YOU'RE IN "GOD" HANDS

I watched the 'ole black and white "Sergeant York" movie today. It was one of my favorites, and I love it when Gary Cooper talks about how "the good book keeps us in good hands."
I immediately thought about how this("You're in Good Hands") is also "Allstate's" motto, and since that's who we use for our insurance,I felt doubly protected!
I know I am in good hands with my earthly insurance, and even more so, with my Heavenly Eternal insurance.Afterall, those "good hands" are the hands of God Almighty!
Alstate may say:........."You're in good hands"
God says:..................."You're in God hands"
Wooooooooo Hooooooooo!!!

RAINY DAYS & MONDAYS

On rainy days, when I was a little girl,I use to go outside, with a host of miniature toys, and build a little flotilla on our entrance drain. It was a narrow gutterlike drain that Daddy built, that reminded me of a river, so naturally,I tried to create a damn, and stop the flow of water running through it! I would place a small block of wood at one end and several of my toys on it, and see how far it would float down the gutter.
Usually, the leaves, and trash in the gutter, would halt the progress, though. If the drain was free of leaves, my "ship" would travel fairly well, but if there were too many, I was stuck, until I cleaned it out......This,I had to do,over and over too.(Yukko!)
Our christian walk is kinda like this too. We can go "smoothly" sailing through life, and then all kinds of trash will clog up our minds and hearts, stopping our forward progress completely!
God, however, has built this bridge, that has enabled us to get out of this mess
He will clean up the water, by giving us Living Water......
And it's a one time thing too........ Clean water and a bridge to God......
Pretty neat,if you ask me!

HEAVENLY ARBOR

As I looked out on the deck today,I noticed the weather worn arbor, that I brought down to Beaufort from Aiken. It was covered in Confederate Jasmine, and all the tendrils were reaching everywhere, to latch on to any, and everything. They were reaching upwards towards the sun.
I gave up trying to train them to go in any certain way,but
I couldn't help, think, though, how , we as followers of Christ, reach out and up, towards the "Son", knowing that God will direct our paths, and lead us to a more righteous and Heavenly arbor !

AND THAT'S FINAL!

I don't think my grandmother Bouterse ever once told me a lie.I mean,I don't think she ever had it in her to lie to me.....(muchless to anybody!)
So, when she told me, that she wasn't afraid to die, and that she would then see her Lord, and her Mama, well, it just made perfect sense to me, and I believed her!
Simple faith in someone I trusted.......
Jesus did the same thing to all with whom He came in contact. They trusted Him, and had faith in His words. He never lied and the people could trust in what He was saying.
If He said He was going to prepare a place for us, and that He would come back and get us, and take us to be with Him, then, He's gonna do it!
Why in the world, would the creator of the world tell us He's gonna do something, and then NOT do it? .........No way!
If God said it.........He meant it, and that's final!

..............YES IT DOES!.................

There are two words written on the front of the pulpit at our new sanctuary. I hadn't seen them written this way before, but I think they say alot about what we believe, and about what the body of Christ should believe......

"SOLA SCRIPTURA"

"Scripture alone"!!...... That about says it all, doesn't it, folks?
Becky

MY TRUE TENT

Every year,David has the scout troop from Aiken come down, and pitch their tents all over our yard, down below. They work on all sorts of projects, but I think they just enjoy coming down to see him(and the
river), if the truth be told.....
At the end of the weekend, all the tents are torn down, and they head back home.....As my grandmother use to say:"I'm glad to see 'em come;and I'm glad to see 'em go."
This weekend always reminds me of how I feel about my earthly tent. We are here on this earth in these "tents", that God has given us, and enjoying all the priviledges too.
Scripture tells us, that He has placed within us a desire to be in our Heavenly dwelling place, with our sweet Abba Father.
When our Lord and Savior so desires us to be with Him, He will take our earthly tent down, and replace it with our Heavenly tent.....
One that won't ever need replacing, or repainting,or cleaning.
Woo Hoo!......... Now,I like that! I didn't like making up beds anyway!
Becky

THE TRUE CULTURED PEARL

Whenever we go back to Aiken, for Allen and Theresa's big oyster roast, I always manage to eat their BBQ, because I'm not a big oyster fan. David can do some damage to the oyster's, but not me.....No sireee!!!
I do, however, think about that oyster and how it has that foreign substance in its shell, causing it to cover itself, making an oyster fluid. Something in that oyster, had to be wounded, in order for a pearl to come forth, folks!
Just as with Christ, when He became wounded, and covered us with His blood, as He hung on that cross. If He hadn't been wounded, there wouldn't have been any blood.......
If there hadn't been any blood, there wouldn't have been any Heaven for you and me.......(Yikes!)
Now,that's a true Cultured Pearl,if you ask me!
Becky

I REMEMBER

I remeber when David died, I was often asked why we chose cremation, instead of burial. To me, we were going back,"from dust to dust" anyway, and I couldn't see trying to fix those areas of my son, that had been seperated at his death. Now, some twelve years later, people will ask me, what do you do, with someone who might have drowned,or been burned, at their death? What happens to those people, when the Rapture occurs?
Well, my mind is so simple, folks, but it kinda understands the whole concept. It's easy......
I have a BIG God! I mean really Big!.....and He can do anything. There is nothing that is too hard for Him, and if your body parts are all detached, then, He's the one that can re-attach them, when you head Home, folks!
Now, wasn't that simple?
He's that big,folks!
I know burial is probably the preferred method, but just as long as I get there, then,I don't really care!

HIGHWAY 441

In the 50's, my brother,Chris, and I, use to sit on the sea wall, infront of our Lake Dora home, and watch the cars go by. We would count the Ford's and Chevy's, and whichever one of us, had the most of a certain car, at the end of a given time, would be the winner! (Sounds like dramatic fun, huh?) Occasionally a VW would tool by......
We had so much fun doing this, because, back then, they were about the only cars around, except for maybe a few random Chrysler's; Mercury's; Buick's, or Pontiac's......Mount Dora wasn't that big, so the Ford's and Chevy's seem to dominate the road scene! When I think back on this, the cars going down the Florida highways, back then, didn't have an interstate to drive on, so they pretty much had to drive on highway 441, and "old 441", went right in front of my house.
Today, when I think about this example,I'm reminded of choosing, not cars, but either God, or satan........
the good way, or the evil way.......
We have to travel down one way, and only one way, to get to God, and that's through the road, called "Jesus".Scripture tells us that the way is narrow, and that we must believe in His Son,Jesus, if we want to come to the Father.
I don't think that this is highway 441, folks. Instead,I think this is the true...........
"Highway To Heaven", and I plan to be on it!

JAM UP!

Grandmother Bouterse and I would spend many Saturday's making Guava Jelly back in the 50's. Either with the big yellow guava's,or the smaller purple-ish kind.
We cooked and cooked......
We stirred and stirred.......
And then the fun began.....
She would hold the old heavy pot over a very fine straining net, and pour the guava concoction over into this. All the cooked guava's would pour right through, into another pot, while the impurities would be syphoned out into the net!
This is where I came in.......(hee hee)
I was to reach onto the net with some tongs,or a spoon, and pull out the yucky stuff. Grandmother said that this was the most important part of the whole process.(She might have been making her gradaughter feel important though.I don't know)
This was because you didn't want the impurities to get back in the good jelly or jam!
Jesus has done this for us too. He has given His life for us, and gotten rid of all our impurities, once and for all!
That way, we can bottle up all the good Christ gives us, as our finished product!

THE DIXIE DRIVE INN

There was the neatest hangout in my hometown, when I was growing up, called the Dixie Drive Inn. As a little girl,I couldn't wait to be able to drive my car into the "drive-in" and "order up". Just about everybody met there, and when I finally got to drive my mother's '59 T bird, for the first time,I cruised that thing right into the Dixie, just as pretty as you please!
Only, I was unprepared for the two young fellas who walked up to my window, and started up very "friendly" conversations with me.I wasn't quite ready for this yet, and didn't know how to handle it, and was looking for a way out.......
when.......
Out of nowhere, my older brother,Chris, who was at the Dixie, walked up, and came to my rescue! He knew I needed some help and found a way to get me out of that situation......(Whew!)
I am reminded of this,in scripture, where our Lord told us that "where with the temptation,I will provide a way of escape." He surely did help me that night.......
He knew these times would come and that we would need a way to get out of those awkward situations.
We now have the Holy Spirit to help us with wise decisions and choices.
Today, the Dixie Drive Inn, is gone,I'm sad to say......
The result of progress.
My memories of it, though, are still alive and my Holy Spirit's pretty active too!
Becky

MEMORIAL DAY

I was fixing up a batch of, both deviled eggs, and potato salad, for this coming Memorial Day, and I decided to use several different recipe's.
I used Jean's recipe with eggs for the potato salad, and Vicki's with green olives, for the deviled eggs, and I used 3 or 4 other recipes using different ingredients that I don't normally use.
It kinda makes it interesting, though, when you combine different ingredients. Don't know what David will do with the chicken, but you can be sure I've already finished baking Grandmother Bouterse's Banana Cake.(That's a must!)
You know, God does this for us too, when He brings us together in the body of Christ.....
He brings a whole "mess" of us together and mixes us up in His recipe. If we follow the recipe and use the list of ingredients He has given us, then, even though we are different, we will still be able to be one in the body through Him.....
Now,I think that's pretty neat!
I wish my potato salad turned out that good.....

ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING

It was touch 'n' go time, today, as I drove home from Curves.
Just as I arrived at the airplane intersection, one of the Navy jets, came swooping down out of nowhere, right over my head! (and with a loud resounding noise too!) I'm always so in awe of them too.....
Right now, I'm sitting out on the deck, watching the sun go down;listening to the Katydids, and watching a Painted Bunting do his own touch 'n' go from the bird feeder. He's been doing fisticuffs with a big 'ole Cardinal, and he actually won this round!
I see headlights crossing the Whale Branch Bridge, and the leaves on the trees are just'a blowin'........... This is when I begin to wonder............ If God created wonderful things like this for you and me, here on earth, just because He wanted to, and because He loved us, then just imagine how absolutely breathtaking Heaven is gonna be...........

If you look at the "Son"......
You can see the "reign" coming!

YOUR CHOICE

I have thought so much about all the choices I had to make as a child.(Didn't we all?) If I had one birthday party to go to, as a child;I had three to go to, .....all on the same day!
Did I choose the red velvet dress,or the cobalt dress with white eyelet; or the black patton Mary Jane shoes,or my Buster Browns?
Goodness gracious sakes alive jumpin' jehosephat jellybeans!
Did I choose an old 1940 Plymouth Road King, or a 1965 Mustang?
Creme' Brule' or Dark Chocolate ? (That's a tough one folks!)
Stay in Aiken, or move to Beaufort? Teach High school,or Elementary Physical Education? (No brainer there!) I did start out in high school though!
To sing in the Metropolitan Opera.....(yeah,right!!!)
No choice there,I know!!!
We all have so many choices growing up, and when we stay in God's word He leaves behimd the Holy Spirit to help us make better choices.
Life has many choices.......
Eternity is also a choice......
Have you made your choice yet?
I have! :pD

HOW SAD......

How sad for Jesus, to have come back then, and the leaders of the day, not to have recognized Him........
How sad for Jesus to come back again, and many of us, still unable to recognize Him!

LINGER AWHILE

Linger with me awhile,my Lord, and be a sweet fragrance to my life......
Undergird my hesitant thoughts with Your sound and steady precepts, sweet Lord.As far as the the east is from the west, is the fragrance of Your love for me,my sweet Father. O please linger awhile, with me, and hold me close to Your heart.......... please?
Just for a little bit.....
Becky

PRECIOUS ONE

O my Precious One,I have found You and delighted myself in You and Your word.Take my steps,O Holy One, and establish their path as You so ordain.Abide with me forever,my Lord and redeemer, and preserve me only for the chambers of Your heart.
So ordain my steps, that I may not slip into the rough and rocky edges of the evil one, but lift me above into Your very Holy and Righteous Presence.
Humble me,my Lord,so that I may delight myself only in You, and live in the abundance of Your prosperous Grace.....
Becky

THE FRAGRANCE

O Lord,I lift up my soul and heart to You, and commit my ways into Your dwelling place. Guide my steps along Your path sweet one, for You are the Loving God of all Direction and Salvation.
Your beauty is far beyond that of the most magnificent star in the heavens above.... Far from Your hands were those same stars born.........I love You,my Lord, for You are every breath I take and You are my stronghold and portion forever.
I give You myself,Lord God.......
The fragrance of Your shadow will be enough......
Becky

ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE

O let the framework of my home, be girded up with the timber and walls of Your solid precepts dear Lord.
Fasten Your sturdy molding to fit in all the crevices and allow the radiance of Your Glory to shine throughout every room.
May every meal be filled with Your bread of Life O God Of Wonder, and when I lay down at night, would You cover me with Your blanket of protection and shelter.
From the east to the west and the north to the south, please dwell within my house,O Lord, for it is Your house, all the days of my life.....
Becky

FRAMEWORK

Daddy always told me, when I was growing up, that pictures looked so much better when they were either outlined or highlighted,in some way. They could be seen so much better, and you seem to pay more attention to them,if they were!
I've pretty much followed this same rule, whether I'm painting on material,or on children's faces, because it highlight's what I'm doing, and makes what I'm doing stand out!
God's word, is kinda like this too. He will sort of "highlight" things to make them standout for us, because He wants to get our attention! He places a framework,or boundary around those things He wants us to really notice, so we need to really pay close attention to His word, so we'll catch on and notice.....
He places the boundary around us,not always for our restrictions, but to remind us, of all that is worth highlighting about our lives. He thinks we are worth highlighting, and placing in a special framework.I don't know about you, but I don't want to let Him down...........
Becky

HOMETOWN TRADITION

There's a big billboard that I drive by,on my way into town, that says:
"Parks......A Hometown Tradition
.....Just down the Road"
Parks is a Chevrolet dealership in town, but I thought it would be really neat, if the sign said something like this:
"God........A Hometown Tradition
.....Just Down The Road"
Now, wouldn't that just tickle Him pink?
Becky

COLORS!

.........The Gospel is color blind!
Becky

SORROW & JOY

O my Abba Father,Your child is hurting tonight.
Lift me up into Your arms and give me Your tender hug! Wrap Your loving arms around me, and wipe away the tears of sadness with Your heart of love, sweet Lord.....
O my,but You are sweetness, Father.....
Just hold me,Abba....
I feel so safe and secure with You.
So safe and secure and someday soon, I will once again, be filled with joy.......
Becky

.........HE IS!

You know what's nice?
To be able to travel to another town, and stay in another home, where Jesus abides......
And then, to also attend another Sunday worship service, at another church, where He also lives!
Now, that's really nice folks!
Becky

THE DWELLING PLACE

When the word became flesh and dwelt amomg us..............

What a nice dwelling place!
Becky

I MISS YOU

It's afternoon here,Lord......
What is it there, at Home?
Are You missing me,my sweet Abba Father? I've only been gone from Your presence for but a brief time,in Your eyes, but it seems like an eternity to my heart.
Oh, how I long to be back in my dwelling place,Lord......Home!
What a wonderful greeting awaits me,my sweet King Jesus!
Oh,My Lord and Savior,it's afternoon here, and I miss You so.......
Becky

CALL ME IN THE MORNIG

When you are sick, your doctor will tell you:
To go home.....
Get plenty of rest......
And call me in the morning!

When you are dying, your Heavenly Father will:
Call you home.......
Where you'll get plenty of rest......
And you can call on Him in the morning!
Becky

PS

THE CLOGGERS FRIEND

When I was a little girl,I learned to wash my hair in the bathroom sink, and I've been doing it that way ever since! Every so often, though, the drain becomes clogged and will begin to back up, and I have to call on "Plumber Dave" to get the plumbers best friend, and clean out the drain................ Boy howdy,is it ever a mess too!
Kinda reminds me, though, of how we can get all clogged up with sin, unless we allow Christ to unclog us!
The only difference,in using this "Best Friend", is that His is a one time unclogging and cleaning job!
Becky

STILL MY HEART

O Precious Father, still my heart, so that I may hear Your voice, when You speak to me. I am trusting in You to lead me,O God, down Your path of Righteousness.
Take my hand, dear Lord, and don't let go,sweet Lord. Indeed,You are my rock and shield;my very present help in time of trouble.
I am waiting for You, and You alone,my Lord.....
You will walk me through that torrential rainstorm, and I will be a rainbow on the other side for You.
Hold me close, sweet Jesus!
Becky

FISHERS OF MEN

Can you imagine how the disciples felt, when they realized they wouldn't be fishermen anymore, but rather,"fisher's of men",instead?
They would now serve up a plate of God's word, instead of a plate of fish!
Now, how cool would that have been?!
Becky

REIGN FOREVERMORE

May we bless ourselves in Your truth and Righteousness,O God of All,and shall we not turn from You, in this our hour of great distress and need. You have seen our want dear Lord and even the distress we have fallen into, and yet You wait.....
You wait for our hearts to cry aloud to You for our redeeming and forgiveness. We will be in anguish O Lord until Your presence comes to rescue us,once again. Then, will the Trumpet sound and the banners herald Your reign, forevermore!
Amen,and Amen!
Becky

CAN YOU IMAGINE?

Can you imagine, being granted the gift of looking back down upon the earth and seeing that it was to be found formless and void?
Or that the heavens had no light?
Perhaps you might see that all the birds of the air had fled the heavens too, or that all the mountains were quaking?
Just imagine that God chose Jeremiah to envision these things and then to write them in scripture, so that we would have an idea of just how serious God takes this principle of our believing and obeying in Him!
I mean, cities were literally wiped off the map because these people fell away from the Lord.........(Sound a little familiar?)
He is faithful and just, though, and will always be there to hear us, if we will just call out to Him!
I don't know about you, but I'd just as soon be on His side!

I NEVER KNEW YOU

As I was going through my address book today, on the computer,I came across several names of friends who had recently died, and with tears in my eyes, and a lump in my throat,I sadly deleted them from my address book!
How terrably sorrowful for our Heavenly Father to have to delete one of His children from the Lamb's Book Of Life,because.....
"They never knew Him"

How appropriate that we should also place all our "sinful trash" onto our ABBA Father.......

TENTS & MANSIONS

Our houses here on earth, are merely tents........
But, the mansions the Master has prepared for us,
Are gonna be "outa this world."
Becky

3 LITTLE PIGS

I always liked the story about the "Three Little Pigs", because they built 3 different types of houses!
One house was built of straw, which quickly got blown away......
The second house was built of sticks, which quickly got blown away.....
These type houses reminded me of where we are told in scripture, not to "build our house on shifting sand."
The third pig, though, built his house out of bricks, and it stood the test of time!
His house was as solid as a rock......
I think he must have known Jesus!

HASTEN LORD

I am resting yet,O Lord, and waiting patiently for thee.....
I have trusted myself only unto You, as You have establisheed my footsteps Great God, and have delighted thyself in my ways. I commit my way to You,Father, and trust in You to set forth my footsteps. Allow my faithfulness to You, to bear fruit so that You may truly delight Yourself in me, as I so delight myself in You.
You have not forsaken the upholding of my heart dear Lord, whether in the heat of battle, or the calm of a springtime day.
You are gracious to extend Your mercies and to lend Yourself to my captivated heart, sweet Jesus......
I have called upon Your name and You have preserved me within Your dwelling place. I will have a portion of Your heart forever,my sweet Lord.
O my Righteous and loving Father, please whisper Your precious words of life into my heart and strengthen my footsteps, so that they might better follow You all the days of my life.
O, the aroma of Your sweet, sweet love,my Lord....
Please don't tarry.....
Hasten,Lord.....
Come quickly!

I REMEMBER MAMA

One of my favorite TV shows in the 50's, was "I Remember Mama". I can watch it today, and it will still bring back such profound memories, that this 'ole girl will find herself weeping!(and I've seen the thing 6 times!) I think it's because of "Mama's" morals; values, and the love she showed for her family.
They didn't have alot, but they were rich in God's love, and His love for one another. I think each of us could write stories about our own mother's.....
My own mother went home to be with the Lord, in 1999, at the age of 89, and that wasn't long enough for me to have her!
I thank our kind and loving Father for preparing a place, here on earth, for these special treasures we call our Mother's.
Some of our "Mum's" have gone on home to be with the Lord, and some are still here with us........ If they are still close in our hearts, we will always be able to say:
"I remember Mama and I love you"!

WINKY DINK

In 1953,one of my very favorite TV programs came on. It was called "Winky Dink," and what made it so unique, was the fact that you were sent 5 crayons and a special sheet of acetate film to place on your TV screen, just for watching this program. This you did on your brand "new" TV screen! (Ours was a brand new 3 years old then!) When Winky Dink called for your help, you simply drew a bridge; a rope;or whatever he asked you to draw, that he needed, to help him........
How well I remember NOT placing that screen on the TV too, and getting in BIG trouble!!! I needed to follow the instructions if I was gonna do it right!
Winky Dink was an animated character, with a star shaped head, whose character voice sounded like Olive Oil,or Betty Boop., and he had a dog, named Woofer, whose voice was the same voice as that used by the dog in Deputy Dawg, and in Phineus T. Bluster on Howdy Doody!
It was neat, ya'll, because he always had a secret message hidden somewhere on the screen during the show.
Some 44 years later, though,I have learned some serious lessons from this little program, as strange as it may seem......
God puts rules in our paths for a reason, so it's important to remember to follow the instructions, because they are there for a reason! (Woo Hoo, that's a toughie sometimes,I know!)
Most of all, I am so very grateful, that God doesn't have to put up a screen, to help solve all my dilemas!
He just does it, because He loves me!

REBORN !

My bones are weary tonight,Lord, but my heart is overflowing with love for You.
Awaken my senses,Lord, so that I may harken unto You. Draw me unto Your own,Lord and hold me close there, in Your abiding love and safe dwelling place, now and forevermore.
No harm will befall me Father, as Your protective hands sweep over my frame.
You have held the enemy at bay, and kept me in the shelter of Your wings, O Most Precious Lord and Savior.
Walking with You,my Lord, is like walking in a garden of fragrant and aromatic flowers. I cannot get enough of that wonderful and lingering fragrance. It uplifts the spirit into the highest realms, and my weary bones are reborn once again!

BECAUSE I SAID SO

I bet, if I asked you, one of the phrases you were told, as a child, was that classic one....."Because I said so!"
My Daddy use to tell me to do things and I would almost always ask "why"? Instead of giving me a reason, he would simply say:"because I said so!"
I learned to be satisfied with his answers though, and I'm kinda glad I did, because in God's word, there are many times, that He doesn't tell us why He is doing what He does..........(that's most of the time, folks!)
Suffice it to say,"because I said so" is a reminder that my Father above, truly does know what's best and I need to obey Him, whether I understand,or not!

WEEBLES WOBBLE

I'm not very steady on my feet right now, as I wobble around, because of this boot on my foot, but will hopefully get this thing off my foot on Tuesday. I am reminded of those toys that my children played with, when they were little, called "Weebles".They sang that little rhyme all the time that went like this:"Weebles wobble but they don't fall down."
Yeah,I thought you would remember that!.......
Well, sometimes, as christians, we too, can tend to wobble in our belief's, but God is faithful and won't allow us to fall completely. He will provide a way out(or up)
for us, if we trust Him!
Boot on!
Boot off!
We may wobble,but.......
He never wobbles in His faithfulness!

OH MY FATHER

Oh my Father, this moment will not come again in my life. These anxieties and worries will never occur again, nor will I be besieged by the hounds of hell either,my Lord. Nay, ..........neither will I see the pain of adversity.
You have come into my life and laid clame to my soul.
My dwelling place resides within Your heart forevermore, most Gracious Lord and Savior.

Fill me with the sweet aroma of Your Redeeming Love, now and Forever more....

HIS ARTWORK

The Navy jets were out in their spectacular force, again today, doing their "touch 'n' go", as I was driving home from town. I always think they are so grand to look at in the sky, as they are flying, until one zooms right over my car!
When I arrived home,I sat on the deck, and watched a gorgeous Painted Bunting at the bird feeder, aftter he flew in from his own flight! The shades of red, chartreuse, and blue on the male, and the chartreuse on the female are positively riveting!
I'm mighty thankful to have the planes to protect us, but sometimes I think, that if people could see...........I mean really look at, these Painted Buntings, then they would have to realize, that there is a greater force out there, than a Navy Jet......
And His name is God......
And His Son has done all the artwork!

WHICH EXIT IS YOURS?

My daughter gave me the funniest card for my birthday, this year. All the signs on the front are interstate signs saying:"Bathrooms-One Mile";Two miles;Next Exit, and so forth......all the way down the road. She knows me so well, and my requests, when I'm driving down the road. It made me stop and think though, about how one day, when we're taveling along life's highway, that there will be a road to destruction, that is wide, and ,many are those who will take this road.
We need to map out our travel down the exit saying "Jesus", for His way is narrow, but will lead to Eternal Life. The way may seem lonely at times, but then end of the road is well worth the travel.

RULING THE ROOST

(This is suppose to rhyme...)

Burger King has another billboard out now, that says:

BURGER KING:"Ruling The Roost Since 1979"
God's been ruling the roost,
Since the beginning of time!

YES,INDEED

You are indeed my help,in ages past, and most certainly, will be my hope, in years to come. My,what a promise to count on Lord.
You are indeed today, what You were Yesterday, and will be Tomorrow, and were, at the Beginning of Time!
My,Oh My,What a Promise dear Lord! What a sweet aroma drifting back to me, along with the promise!
I can sleep on that now.........

A GOOD READ

Most of you all know how much I like to read.
Lately though,I've gotten pretty particular about what I read. I sorta feel like I don't need to put all that extra garbage into my mind, that's out there today......I just don't!
God's word tells us to think on things that are:
true;honest;just;pure, lovely, and of good report, and that if there is ANYTHING of virtue, I'm to think on these things, not the garbage in the world! So why should I read the other stuff?
Those traits mean working, at becoming genuine;honorable;clean;righteous;beautiful...... Wonderful attributes that can only make my mind grow and bloom with beautiful thoughts. It's not always easy, but it surely does keep you content, and secure, when the trials come rolling in,........................ and besides,His word is a good read too!

TRAFFIC JAM

Most of you remember me telling you about the traffic jam I was in, the day the Blue Angel pilot went down. Well, Beaufort is in another one!...... One of the concrete bridges, that connects Lady's Island to Beaufort, was rammed by a barge, last Friday morning, and we have been using only the one swing bridge for all the traffic that goes over to Lady's Island; Dataw;St.Helena's;Hunting Island,Harbor Island, and Fripp! ..........It is an old bridge too, folks, and traffic is wild! It usually takes the folks from Fripp about 45 minutes to come into Beaufort, but it took them 5 hours yesterday! (That's as long as it takes a pixel to come back from the Hubbel Telescope's outer galaxies!)
This morning,SCDOT arranged for them to have one way traffic coming in from those areas from 5-7am, and the traffic was lined up for miles, just waiting to get back out there! Ouch!
This got me to thinking, however, about our Spiritual walk......
Scripture tells us that the road to Heaven won't be wide;that will lead to destruction! Instead,it will be a narrow road......perhaps even one lane traffic.
Let's just make sure we're in the correct lane going in the right direction!

IT'S NOT A DEAD LANGUAGE

I was always told, that Latin was a dead language.
I think not!
The only two verses that I remember from "Twinkle Twinkle,Little Star",in Latin, went something like this:
"Mica,Mica,Parva Stella,
Mirror,quaenum,sistum bella."
(Mind you, my spelling in Latin is non existant!)
I don't remember the rest of it, and know I butchered the first part in the spelling, but, folks,I was doing good to get out of the ninth grade, when I had Latin!
The only other Latin phrase I knew, was:
"Veni;Vedi;Vequi", which to the best of my recall, meant:
"I came;I saw: I conquered".
Well, if you think about it folks, one day, our Glorious Star who came to earth as a mere babe, and morning star, will indeed:
"Come"......
"See".........and
"Conquer" once again, as King!
Dead language?.......I think not!
