NOW AND FOREVERMORE

Father, if Your hands hold the depths of the earth and the peaks of the mountains, and if the sea is Yours and Your hands have formed the dry land , and if You have clothed the lilies of the field in all their splendor, and You know when the tiny Sparrow falls, will You, the Great and Mighty God that You are, not hold me in the palm of Your hand, because You love me more than these?
Will You not uphold me with the right hand of Your righteousness, and will You not be my Comforter? Will You not surround me with Your tender mercies when I am hurting, and clothe me with Your Grace as I walk through the furnace of affliction?
You are the Lord, our God, our Maker, and I give You honor and glory and praise, for with You I will abide, now and forevermore.....

MOM'S

The color blue from the sky brings forth air and gentle breezes, and it reminds me of the gentle laughter from MaryAnn; Addison and Leslie who light up our Mom's weekend with a breath of fresh air! The fresh cut green grass is crisp and upright and stands for the way we view life! This also represents the character of Sarhi; Arnette and Jenn! Pink has to be the color for kindness and I would say that Charlotte and Nellah win the award for that, in everything!" Out of the wellspring of the heart the mouth speaks".....and theirs is always kindness! Purple is the color of royalty, and I would have to give this color to Liz; Sissy and LaVonne! They give others the royal treatment of love! Of course the color red has to be for Ramelle; Sandy and Maybelle! They just brighten up any room with the color of love! I guess that just leaves me, and I will have to be the color orange, so that I can say....."Orange you gonna come back and see me sometime?"
We have many new Mom's that I haven't met yet, and they will be chosen from the colors of the rainbow. Their lives will be interwoven with the Master Creator and He will give each new lady a color as He weaves them into our family of Mom's. His color is gold, because He is the golden thread that binds us together and is woven into the very fabric of each lady's life.

AERODYNAMICS

When I fly anywhere I am always in amazement of how huge the planes are, and how they can ever get off the ground! I can't imagine that they can possibly get off the ground, without being pulled back down!
They always seem to make it up though.
There's a law called Aerodynamics that overrides the law of gravity and allows the plane to leave the pull of gravity behind. Aerodynamics breaks its hold, and allows the plane to go free and fly on up there!
The Holy Spirit has also allowed us to override sin's hold on us, concerning fleshly matters. Every time something sinful tries to hold us down in its grasp, the Holy Spirit will warn us, and break free the sinful grasp! He gives us a way of escape from that temptation, and literally frees us from sinning!
Talk about dynamics!

GLORY & POWER & HONOR & PRAISE

Father, if Your hands hold the details of the earth, and the peaks of the mountains, and if the sea is Yours and Your hands have formed the dry land, and if You have clothed the lilies of the field and know when the tiny Sparrow falls, then I know that You, the Great and Mighty God of the Universe will hold me in the palm of Your hand right now. I know, because You have loved me, more than these, and will uphold me with Your righteous right hand and will be my comforter in times of need. You will surround me with Your tender mercies, when I am hurting, and will clothe me with Your grace and strength to walk through this furnace of affliction and pain. You are the Lord; The God our Maker! I give You honor and glory and praise forevermore.

MY HERO

When my sweetie joined the Beaufort Search and Rescue, he found himself as part of a team that searched for victims that were in peril and aided in their rescue. He enjoyed helping others as they came to the aid of those in distress. Such was the heart of David Lock. When Jesus Jesus Christ searches for those who are in distress, He also comes to their aid to rescue them too. Such was the heart of Jesus as He searched for the inner recesses of my David's heart and rescued him from the depths of hell.My God will travel the ends of the earth to save mankind from destruction, and today, He gave me that inner peace that told me He had my sweetie in the palm of His hand!
Talk about a search and rescue!
Talk about a Mighty God!

MATT

Several years ago, David's great nephew Matt Pridgen, from Charleston, was swimming with some friends, and was caught in a riptide and swept out to sea. His folks were notified that he was being searched for, but presumed lost at sea. One day later and eight miles down the coast line, Matt was found by the Coast Guard, because he had been swimming that entire time with the current. His folks were notified and much praise to the Lord was given! He credited a great deal of his lasting that long to what he learned from his time in Boys Scouts and remembering what his Uncle David taught him from scouts about always swimming with the current.
Matt 's hours in the water drew him close to the water so much that he gave his life to the Lord and has made and produced a CD that tells his testimony in a most unique and creative story form fashion! It's really cool! Shortly after this, Matt's Father died of a brain tumor, but not before he told me that he was able to sing to his Father and read scripture to him everyday. What a testimony in itself! This was a beautiful picture given to me of the faithfulness of God to His children. He has a plan for Matt to accomplish something special in his life, so he rescued him at sea!
Simple as that!
I'm just glad he wasn't swallowed by a whale!

DEE

Again my God gives me some wonderful nuggets of help! David's cousin/ sister, Dee, and her son, Matt drove over from Charleston for a visit today. What a treat! David's Father adopted his own brother's children after he died, so they are cousins but the grew up looking at each other as brothers and sisters.
Confusing, I know!
Anyhoo, Dee is the one whose son was swept away by a riptide a few years ago, and presumed dead, only to be found 8 miles away from Charleston, because he remembered the scouting principles from Uncle David and scouts and swam with the current.
Her husband just recently died of a brain tumor, so she was a wealth of information for David and me, and gave him so much comfort on what to expect in certain areas. She was a huge help to me too. The neatest thing Matt shared with us was his personal CD testimony. He was so overcome with emotion as he was in the water for those 8 hours that he totally gave his life to the Lord, and he made a CD testimony that is wonderful! He prayed with me and we talked for a good bit. I felt covered by the blood of the lamb today, as I do everyday! It just arrived in a prettier package!

MY SHEPHERD

The Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want. He leadeth me to the green bathroom, where it is still and quiet, and He restores my soul for just a few minutes. He guides me in paths of righteousness, for His name's sake, and even though I am frazzled and tired right now, and am facing a painful time, I can be content and fear no evil, because He is with me, and His rod and His staff will comfort me, and I can use that! He is gonna prepare a big banquet table for me right smack dab in the presence of my enemies!
Woo Hoo! He has anointed my head with His loving oil, so much so, that my cup has overflowed. Father, Your goodness and mercy will follow me all around everyday,............ forever! The best thing, though, is that I will be with You in Your House, Father, forever!

MODELING CLAY

As a little girl, I remember playing with modeling clay. I could mold it and shape it into the fashion that I wanted and it would pretty much stay in that shape! It didn't matter if I made a mistake, because it was forgivable, and I could just rearrange it the way you wanted!
Our Heavenly Father is a Master at modeling and molding our clay bodies. He molds us and fashions us into the pattern that He so designs us to be, but when that shape begins to crumble, He is also forgiving and will mold us right back into shape....Only better!

MAY

This was a beautiful telephone call I received today!
I wanted so badly to go to May's funeral today, but couldn't go.
Beth called me today and told me about the funeral and what a blessing it was.
She said that May's grandson's Richard, spoke and talked about his Grandmother now being in her own mansion on streets of gold, with gates of pearl! He went on to describe everything that May had described to him about Heaven, as a little boy. What a treasure to be given that picture from scripture when he went to his Grandmother's home as a child, and then to recall it when his Grandmother goes Home to meet the King of Kings!
We have all been given a picture of our Father's Home in scripture, and we can tell our own children about it too, just like May did. He told us to go out into the world and make disciples of men, and that's just what May did!

PRINCE CHARMING

Who would have thought that fourteen years ago, that the prince charming that was by my side, every single day for two months when I was in ICU with a brain hemorrhage, was being watched over in ICU by his sweetie these past five days?! Only the God that created us both, and the one who knew that when our oldest son died, knew that we would both cling to each other too! God has drawn us so closely together through times like these, and to watch David suffer like this breaks my heart, but it also shows me the mercy that my God has shown through all of this.
He has given us a Christian doctor and nurses who believe in prayer. He has given me friends who have helped and supported both of us with their friendship; prayers; food, and visits.
God has shown up and visited David in all kinds of ways through this! I'm just thankful he is still here for however long I have him.
For such a time as this, my God created me......

RICK

Most of you know that I memorized the book of Phillippians, several years ago, when Audrey challenged the women at Women's Life to do so. I didn't have a clue as to why, until I discovered I was to write the son of a friend of mine who was in prison. We've been writing back and forth ever since!
Well, yesterday, his parents called me, and I got to talk to Rick himself!
He is out of prison and home with his parents! I could never have received a happier gift right now! In fact, I smiled for the first time in three weeks, a truly BIG smile of great gratitude.
Rick said on the days when he was at his lowest, he would read and re-read my letters and find that the verses I gave him from Philippians gave him so much hope!
What an encouragement!
The Lord has a way of reaching us, doesn't He? Rick became a believer in prison and I'm hoping his parents will too now, through the witness of Rick and the words of Paul!
Paul had no idea how far his book would reach when he wrote it!

KEN

God gave me a booster shot today! Before I drove over to the hospital, I received a call from Ken O'Dell in Aiken. He was our shepherding group leader when we lived there, and he and David really hit it off! David enjoyed attending and always got a lot out of the evenings at their house.
Ken called to give me a prayer this morning, and to tell me that he would come down to see David. He didn't tell me, though, that he was driving down tonight! How surprised I was, when he called back and told me that he was in the room with David! He talked to him and read scripture to him and explained that God had a plan for him, even though he was in a coma. Ken has had a burden for David for a long time, and thought it important enough to even drive the two hours to share God's plan with him. We are both trusting that God opened his ears enough for him to receive those words and answer God in the affirmative!
Will you please join me in praying that he will?

PLUMB LINE

I can remember when John F Kennedy was running for President.
I had a friend in my class who was catholic and he was all for him becoming the President, but I wasn't so sure. I thought this wasn't right. I was becoming prejudiced but just didn't know it!
We can all become prejudiced in our own rights, but if we let God's word be our plumb line, we will never go wrong!
We are all equal in the sight of God. He didn't look at us as catholic's; Baptists; Presbyterians, or as any denomination, but as children of the Living God!
As I remember the events of that sad day, I am very grateful that my God was the plumb line then, and came for all men to have eternal life then and now!
