.......GIVE BLOOD 100%

Another cool billboard today, folks!
As I drove into Beaufort, today, I noticed another cool billboard that simply said:
"DONATE BLOOD"
The first thing that popped into my head,(even though I realized this was for a blood bank) was the knowledge that Jesus Christ, has been the biggest blood donor of all time, when He gave His whole life's blood, for all of us.......
Now that's donating blood!

WHAT A SHAME!

(You folks who don't live in this area, highway 21, is kinda like the Daytona 500, during the week!)

Boy howdy, would I like to see all the drivers, who go flying down highway 21, on Monday through Friday, drive as quickly getting to church on Sunday! As it is, the road is almost empty on Sunday morning! What a shame.......
These folks have it all backwards. It should be the other way around!

WHO WOULD YOU GIVE SALVATION TO?

I love that precious ad on TV, right now, where the father goes around to the back seat, of his car and buckles his little girl into her car seat, all the while she's justa jabberin' away....talkin' to herself, a hundred miles a minute! While she's chatterin' , her father goes and gets in the front seat, and starts up the car.....
The ad is for VOLVO, and simply says: "WHO WOULD YOU GIVE A VOLVO TO?"

Well, if we were all tucked away, in the back seats of our lives, real prim and proper like, justa yakkin' away, and not hurting anybody, or thinking about anyone in particular, and our Heavenly Father just "happened" to look in on us, and say something to us, I wonder if it would sound like this:
"WHO WOULD I GIVE SALVATION TO?"
Makes ya think, doesn't it?

THOUGHTS TO PONDER

I love to wrap up presents in unique wrapping paper.
This tells alot about the gift, and about how much extra time I took,or wanted to take,to make that gift special......
When we do absolutely stupid things that can cause pain and suffering, God in His infinite wisdom, shows us His gift of Mercy.
He doesn't have to........
He just does!
He Glorifies Himself in us, after showing us this gift of Mercy. Then He does this unbelievable thing, and consecrates our "all" (everything we are) with the gift of His Grace. Grace shows up in us, as the wrappings of His Gift called Salvation!
Cool, huh?
Grace is our outward motivation, for our inward expression to God's Mercy.....
And what a gift it is,folks!
He wraps tissue paper of Mercy in our box of pain, because we hurt.
He then consecrates our "All" in that box.
He wraps up the entire box and Glorifies it with Grace.
He ties it up with a bow of His Redeeming Love........

THE ANCHOR

When you throw your anchor overboard, you are trusting in that anchor to hold your boat in place, and keep it from drifting away into uncharted waters.

Likewise, when we throw ourselves overboard into the anchor of Christ, we can forever trust in Him, to hold us in place, and keep us from drifting away into satan's abyss......

THE MISSIONARY

When I was about twelve years old, I told my Grandmother Bouterse, that I wanted to be a missionary to Africa. She told me that God might just have me be a missionary in my own home!(How prophetic!)
Each of us,if we think about it, can take what God has given us, and actually be that missionary to our husbands, wives and children. We don't have to go to a foreign country. We just have to be willing to step out with the word of God, and gently walk alongside those in need......
A gentle spirit can be a tower of strength to someone in the dark!

TOMORROW AND TOMORROW.......

Did you ever get yourself in such a dither over something that was suppose to happen tomorrow, that you almost made yourself sick?
Angela use to say,"the juice just "ain't" worth the squeezin" when this would happen.....How true! How true! There is absolutely nothing we can do about tomorrow, and yet, we're always worrying about it!
I wonder why?
Scripture tells us,"For who by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life?"
We can't, and yet we're bound and determined to try and succeed at our worrying!
A little wise woman once told me that the sun will always rise in the morning, so don't you worry!
Then she said, if it doesn't rise in the morning, then you had better have made your peace with God! .............Made sense to me! The sun should come up, and that will take care of today. I can do something about today!
Yesterday has pretty much come and gone, and I took care of it, the best that I could!
Hopefully,I will have rinsed my brush out of the past, and dipped it into the word of God today, so I can paint a truly brighter and more godly picture of tomorrow.......

EVERY KNEE WILL BOW

THIS IS AN EYE OPENER FOLKS!!!

"Someday,every knee will bow,
And every tongue will confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord......."

Oh,yes indeed, whether they want to,or not!
And then, some of them are gonna finish the rest of their lives in Heaven, for gazillions of years, enjoying some mighty wonderful and majestic things.......
While the others are going to spend the rest of their lives in Hell, for gazillions of years too, in a perpetual burning lake of fire, that never stops burning.
Personally,I can't imagine what they could find the time to enjoy doing, unless it's outscreaming each other for help.(but that won't help either)
Maybe they will have a "Gnashing of teeth contest"?
Becky

YES,I AM.......TOO

It's quiet right now.
Edie's fire is blazing and she's preparing for her young girl's Bible Study, while I'm just waiting to go meet Kelly for supper!
This journey is all about waiting on the Lord, with good friends.......
He is such a faithful God.One who provides for every need at every turn, and aren't we glad He called us to Him?!
My,My,My.......Yes,I am!
Becky

GOD'S GRACE

When I did something wrong as a little girl, I surely didn't want to grieve, or hurt my Daddy. No, way !
It like to tore my heart out, knowing I hurt him, too........
In the same way, scripture is very clear about telling us not to "grieve" the Holy Spirit. This tells me it must be pretty important to God, if He doesn't want us to do it!
Think how very much it grieves and hurts God, when we do sin......and then, just imagine,
Jesus Christ stepping inbetween you and God, blocking out all your sins, so that God can't see them anymore...ever again! What a sight! Well, He has done just that for us, by dying on that cross. That's kinda how God's Grace is.......... His Son, just stepped in front of that sin, and God couldn't see us anymore, with sin plastered all over us.
Instead, He saw a pure and spotless Lamb of God, named "Grace".

CAN YOU IMAGINE?

Can you imagine, what it was like, when all those people, who called for Jesus to be crucified, stood before God,................ and saw Jesus sitting beside Him?
I mean, can you just imagine what ran through their minds?
Now, imagine what will run through the minds of friends of ours who don't "get it" either, and someday see Jesus next to God?
Yikes! ......................Let's do something about it!

EAT YOUR PEAS & VEGGIES.......

My,my,my, have I ever been given a golden nugget today.
I ordered some special books, for my "Mom's Who Lost Children", for when we get together in March, and the author sent me a special little book she had written that just touched my heart so much. It's entitled "To Let You Know I Care".It's a reminder that when times are hard for us, that I have a friend who will be there for me.....
Even some 12 years after losing my son,I find that the tears can still fall, when someone lets me know they care.
Our Lord was like that too......
He cared about the details in our lives. Our hurts and pains...... Our losses and accomplishments too.......
It's so wonderful to know that Cheryl has sent me this delightful, and so appreciated book., and that she does care......
What's even more wonderful though, is ...........I am eternally grateful to my Lord, because He too, cared for me, by dying on a cross, and taking my sins with Him....
Making it possible for me to care for Him for Eternity too!
My,My,My.....

ROCK,PAPER,SCISSORS

I loved to play "Rock,Paper,Scissors", growing up.
I thought it was so cool, but today it might look something like this:

Rock (Stone)crushes scissors
Scissors cuts paper
Paper covers rock.

Stone encloses the Savior
Savior cuts out the Sin from the world, with every ounce of blood in Him, He wraps this gift of Salvation, to each and every one of us, if we will accept it!
Jesus becomes the rock, and His living word recorded on paper in the Bible is the covering for His word.
Becky

MY,MY,MY.......

Why is it, when someone "seems" close to going home to the Father, that we grieve so?
Why are our hearts so heavy?
When in all actuality, we should be celebrating with..........and for them!
But oh,it is so hard.Even when you are so happy for that person to be going home .....
Knowing they will be standing in "His" presence anyday.
My,my,my, why do our hearts still weep? My heart has only grieved once in my life, for my dear friend,Lois, (and I still miss her so), but knowing I will see her again, makes this 2nd hurting time, a little easier to face.
I'm trusting in a God,though, that will only take that person home, when their life on this earth is completely finished, and they can begin a second one that will never end. If God has said that their life has finally completed what they were suppose to do on this earth, then I am confident that He knows what He is about,in bringing them home!
If it's okay with God, then it's gonna be okay with 'ole Bec!
I guess we grieve and weep, because we're human, and selfishly want them with us!
If we can get past that, and look to a farther horizon, we might just get a better view!
My,my,my.......

CALLING GOD?

It's so nice to pick up the phone, and call someone, to have prayer over the phone......You know what I mean? It's just like having a prayer partner right next to you, and it's such a comfort!
Several times, lately, I've really needed to have a physical voice speaking to me, so I've picked up the phone, and called two of my dear friends in Aiken, and been "recharged". What's so nice about the prayers and the word of God, is that it is with us "all" the time, and anytime we need it, we can open it up, and read it!
We don't have to worry about anybody being home, when the phone rings either, because God is always Home!

GO FIGURE

When I leave Edisto,I have to remind myself, to turn off all the utilities, and lock up everything. When I do this,I suddenly feel isolated, and kinda like I don't belong here, because nothing is on anymore....
Nothing is lit up, or welcoming anymore, and it's a very uninviting feeling, believe me!
In the same way, when we turn off the light that shines Christ's love in our own lives, we tend to give off that same "isolation" feeling.
We aren't "lit up" with His loving light, so no one feels welcome around us......
Figure that one out!
Becky

HOPE

Trisha came down, and spent two days with me, at Edisto, this past week. We both needed some special time with the Lord, so it was a much appreciated 2 days!
She brought me one of those dear "Willow Tree" figurines, as a "Thank You" gift, but her gift of friendship means so much more......
The gift, is a little girl, looking Heavenward, and holding onto a starlike balloon, with the word "Hope" written inside.......
Did this ever speak volumes of my relationship with the Lord!
"My hope is built on nothingless, than Jesus blood and righteousness."
Wonderful words, spoken from that old hymn, and that sweet little figurine will be a constant reminder of God's Hope for us all, when we just say:"Yes" to Him, and trust!

ALAS BABYLON

When I was growing up in the '60's, novelist Pat Frank, wrote a book entitled "Alas Babylon".It dealt with the nuclear threat, and after reading it, almost everybody in my hometown became obsessed with wanting a municipal bomb shelter. Since Daddy was a local builder, he(somehow) ended up building a bomb shelter in Mount Dora.
It was cool, as a child to witness this thing, and see what was inside....
In order to reserve a place in the shelter, though, you had to put down a fee, for your reservation. I remember asking Daddy if we would go there, in the event of a bomb dropping? He never talked about spiritual "things" that much, unless it was in a Sunday School, but he said, very assuredly:" Beg, we're going to a far better place, above, where our fee has already been paid"!
I thought this was a pretty neat way to put it.......
This 'ole bomb shelter is still there, covered over by grass......
In the middle of an orange grove, behind somebody's house........
And I'm not tellin'.......

WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL

When I was a little girl,we had a cement fish pond in our back yard. We had used it for a children's swimming pond, for my birthday parties, but somewhere along the way, it turned into an oversized goldfish pond . It was probably about half the size of a regulation swimming pool, and the "deep" end was about 4' deep, and the shallow end was about 2'..........Real big, huh? It was shaped like a kidney bean.
I remember asking Daddy if I could clean out the shallow end of the pool, for my goldfish.(I raised goldfish to sell at the dimestore, and they really grew big too!)
Daddy knew I would probably use the glass milk bottles we had(Yes there were such things as glass milk bottles then!), so he told me "No!" Well, being the stubborn, and disobedient little girl that I was, I proceeded to do it anyway!(Bad move!)
I didn't take into consideration, that the shallow end was drying out a little, causing the bottom to become slippery and mucky. Naturally, I slipped and when I did,I dropped the milk bottles; breaking them, and ofcourse stepping right onto the cut glass!
I remember screaming for my Daddy, because the bone was sticking out and blood was everywhere.....
He came out quickly, and picked me up, taking me into the house. I told him how very sorry I was, and he told me it was okay, but I bear the consequences of that scar on my left toe, to this day!
As with our Heavenly Father, when we choose to disobey Him,He will rescue us, and He goes one step better, than saying it's okay.......He will forgive us.......
But we will carry the consequences around with us forever......
Ofcourse, as long as I have Christ, I don't mind......
