THE DIXIE DRIVE INN
There was the neatest hangout in my hometown, when I was growing up, called the Dixie Drive Inn. As a little girl,I couldn't wait to be able to drive my car into the "drive-in" and "order up". Just about everybody met there, and when I finally got to drive my mother's '59 T bird, for the first time,I cruised that thing right into the Dixie, just as pretty as you please!
Only, I was unprepared for the two young fellas who walked up to my window, and started up very "friendly" conversations with me.I wasn't quite ready for this yet, and didn't know how to handle it, and was looking for a way out.......
when.......
Out of nowhere, my older brother,Chris, who was at the Dixie, walked up, and came to my rescue! He knew I needed some help and found a way to get me out of that situation......(Whew!)
I am reminded of this,in scripture, where our Lord told us that "where with the temptation,I will provide a way of escape." He surely did help me that night.......
He knew these times would come and that we would need a way to get out of those awkward situations.
We now have the Holy Spirit to help us with wise decisions and choices.
Today, the Dixie Drive Inn, is gone,I'm sad to say......
The result of progress.
My memories of it, though, are still alive and my Holy Spirit's pretty active too!
