WINKY DINK
In 1953,one of my very favorite TV programs came on. It was called "Winky Dink," and what made it so unique, was the fact that you were sent 5 crayons and a special sheet of acetate film to place on your TV screen, just for watching this program. This you did on your brand "new" TV screen! (Ours was a brand new 3 years old then!) When Winky Dink called for your help, you simply drew a bridge; a rope;or whatever he asked you to draw, that he needed, to help him........
How well I remember NOT placing that screen on the TV too, and getting in BIG trouble!!! I needed to follow the instructions if I was gonna do it right!
Winky Dink was an animated character, with a star shaped head, whose character voice sounded like Olive Oil,or Betty Boop., and he had a dog, named Woofer, whose voice was the same voice as that used by the dog in Deputy Dawg, and in Phineus T. Bluster on Howdy Doody!
It was neat, ya'll, because he always had a secret message hidden somewhere on the screen during the show.
Some 44 years later, though,I have learned some serious lessons from this little program, as strange as it may seem......
God puts rules in our paths for a reason, so it's important to remember to follow the instructions, because they are there for a reason! (Woo Hoo, that's a toughie sometimes,I know!)
Most of all, I am so very grateful, that God doesn't have to put up a screen, to help solve all my dilemas!
He just does it, because He loves me!
