no fertilizer please

there's a stump down by the edge of the water,out here, in front of the house, that has started sprouting new tree growth.....
when the tree was cut,it wasn't taken out from the root, but left as a stump, which provided just enough material for new growth to occur......
this always reminds me of sin......
if we just leave what it is, that is bothering us,it will continue to grow....
even if it's just a little bit.
if we cut it out at the root of the problem,with god's help, or where it started,then we can pretty much see it disappear......
as long as we don't fertilize it.......
