SCRIPTURE
When I drove to Aiken, this past time,I stayed with Pat and Bob,who live out in the country. Bob gave me a set of directions to their home, which were completely different, from the original way I had driven. It was quite confusing for me......
The new by-pass, was in place, and all my old roads and signs, were gone! I wasn't sure if his way was actually the best way to go. I had to compare it to a landmark, which I knew to be steady and true.(which I did find)
In the same way,we are told to stay with something steady and true, when interpreting scripture.
Scripture reminds us to let scripture interpret scripture, when we are in doubt about something.....
If there is something we have heard, or have read, that we aren't sure about, we can always go to God's word, and see "if our way" parallel's, what God's word says!
If it doesn't, then boot it out!
Keeping our thoughts and actions geared, so that we are in line with, and agreeing with what scripture says, will save alot of wrong turns for us, whether in town, or in the country!
