COFFEE ANYONE?
Most everybody who knows me, knows that I do not like coffee!
I have, however, found that when you place the ground up coffee beans into some water, and put heat under them, those coffee beans will change that water into something really fragrant and aromatic!
The coffee,is different from, say a potato, which, when you place it in water is hard. When you turn the heat on under the water, the outcome will be a soft potato. Or maybe you will take a hard shelled egg, which is soft on the inside and place it in some water, and turn the heat up. Oddly enough, that hard shell will remain intact, but that soft egg, will be come hard......
Three different things responding in different ways to one source!
Christians can do the same thing too!
We have a choice of becoming a "potato"; an "egg", or some "coffee beans"......
When we are potatoes, we tend to come on strong for the Lord, at first, but then, when things begin to unravel, and various trials come along, we aren't very knowledgeable in scripture, so we become soft, and give way under all the heat! We are just too weak!
The egg type person starts out with a young and fragile belief......they aren't sure and need to be guided along in the word, but when they are placed in the furnace of affliction, they become hard and crusty againsty everything and everybody, but mostly against our Lord.
Now, the Coffee Bean folks change the people they are around.
We can all be strong in the Lord under heat, if we keep our eyes focused on Jesus Christ. That 'ole coffee bean changes the flavor of the water under heat, and gives off flavor and fragrance. What an aroma we can give off to others of our Lord and Savior,Jesus Christ! We can too, if we will take our "no good very bad horrible day" experiences and let the Lord turn the burner down!.......
I still don't like coffee though!
Becky
