MY BRAIDED RUG
When I was a little girl, and would stay out at my grandmother's trailer, it was often my "heavy" chore,to beat her braided rug outside.
Now, this was no ordinary rug, folks. No,siree!
This was a hand braided rug, where she used all of my Grandaddy's ties from years gone by! It was a deep wine color, for the most part, and I'm telling you, that this thing was HEAVY, when it got clogged with dirt, and dust. It didn't take much, either,to get it all dirty....
I have that old rug too(tucked away, somewhere!)
As Grandmother wove these ties together, into the rug, they would remind her of different times in Grandaddy's life.
It kinda reminds me of the body of Christ today, and how we are woven together in the Lord. Yes, we are all, different,it's true, but when we are hooked and braided together, we can come together quite nicely!
We make a good foundation to stand on,because we are hooked together with God's word.
Now, I don't recommend beating any of the members like I did my rug, but a good daily cleansing of our sinful habits is always good!
