THE FIREPLACE

One of the things I remember about my home in Mount Dora, when I was growing up, was the big old fireplace,in the living room. It had a really big mirror over it, that Daddy always painted the nativity scene on,at Christmas time. He also had a fire screen that he placed in front of it all during the year! This was to keep the sparks from popping out and catching the rug on fire! (Mama used it as part of her flower decorating accessories, when we weren't using it!)
In the same manner, we often need to place a screen infront of our speech, because, our words can be like those sparks, and pop out, burning those they hit, unless we place this covering over them!
Loose sparks will burn up and destroy a rug, Loose and angry words will tear down a person's character and self esteem. This isn't the way Christ taught us to esteem one another."I think",it had something to do, with "do unto others, as you would have them do unto yourselves"!
It just isn't worth it!
A new rug you can buy!
A new friendship,you can't!
