TRUST
Grandmother Bouterse made me a little Sunbonnet girl, quilt, when I was a young girl, that I still have. It was made from the scraps of dresses that I wore during different phases of my growing up.
Each one represented a characteristic of me, in my life, as I was growing up.
Joseph's father,Jacob, also made him a quilted coat when he was a young boy. Joseph's quilted coat, was a constant reminder of God's faithfulness to him. It was a reminder of how he could always place his trust in God.....even if he didn't understand !
Especially, if he didn't understand!
When he was left in the pit by his brothers, and he didn't understand.....
He still trusted God!
When he was sold into slavery, he didn't understand.......
He still trusted God!
When he was falsely accused;thrown into prison; he didn't understand.
He still trusted God!
Against all odds, Joseph made the choice to choose to trust God, inspite of what looked like doomed situations!
This speaks mountains to me, folks! God took the piece of this patchwork robe and allowed Joseph to wear it proudly.
He knew how it would all work out in the end, and I love it when He lets us see these things.
Isn't He awesome?
I guess that's what they mean by the old hymn:
"Trust and obey,
for there's no other way..."
.....and there isn't!
Trust God to stitch your very own coat of many colors, complete with your very own, original patches....
Wear it proudly!
