KNOWING THEM,JESUS!
In 1953, twenty some children arrived at their first day of school, in Mrs. Cooley's, and Mrs. O'Hara's first grade class. at Mount Dora Elmentary, later renamed Roseborough Elementary School......
52 years later, about 18 of those first graders reconnected for their 40th high school class reunion, at the Lakeside Inn, in Mount Dora,Florida. What a treasure to take a boat cruise down the Dora canal, and to tour the "new" MDHS, that has been built to replace our old "new" school.
As I looked into the faces of my classmates, this is what I saw:
I saw Bob Pohlman's homemade meatballs, that he made for the Spaghetti supper, to help out the school.
I saw Mrs. Mc Cabe helping us with our Junior Garden Club flower arranging.
I saw Mrs. Potter working with the scouts, as a den mother.
I saw Doreen's father creating beautiful orchid corsage's, from ones that he grew.
I saw Mrs. Wilson creating adorable crocheted covers for all of our hair spray cans.
My treasure of friends from first grade through high school, 'til now, was made possible, because of the devotion, and dedication of loving parents, who thought more of their families, than of themselves........I think I probably have one of the kindest and most appreciative classes anywhere around..........they're just truly neat......and loving!
My hat and my heart goes out to them, in thanks, and love.
(And to my Lord, because most of them, are probably all up above, anyway, knowing them!)
Becky
(Ps It's good to be home, but am leaving again, on Friday!)
