MOM'S '09

This upcoming weekend,marks the 5th year that my "Mom's Who Lost Children/Good Grief", group of ladies will be gathering at my Edisto beach house.We have grown from 5 Mom's to almost 15 this time, and consist of the young;the elderly, and from all walks of life.These Mom's,including myself, have given back to God, the most precious thing they could ever have to give,so when all the "stuff" is going on in the world today,it shouldn't surprise you when we Mom's don't become all upset with what's going on!Most of us will tell you,that we have already gone through the most horrific thing a person could go through, so NOTHING anyone could do on this earth, could touch us,or ever hurt us,like that could!
Makes sense,doesn't it?
When you can put your life into a perspective like that, you will ultimately see who is in control and enjoy life and the time you have left!
We Mom's will arrive, and place pictures of our children on the breakfront, and we will hug and laugh and EAT!!!
We will walk on the beach;watch DVD's, and ask all about how we are doing and about our boys and our new "daughters".We have adopted four new Mom's with four lovely daughters, so we are growing, which I wish weren't true!
I wish no Mom, ever had to go through this, but I am so thankful that these Mom's have opened up their hearts and their hurt and made themselves vulnerable to help others heal.I wish our world could heal this way......Alas, we know the only way the world will be able to do that,...... and it won't be at the beach!
Please be in prayer for this wonderful weekend.Hearts are especially two weeks raw for two of these Mom's and still pretty tender for two more.I've seen the Holy Spirit do some Mighty profound healing with some of these Mom's and in so doing,our Lord has been glorified and honored in a huge way.
These are His children.We are their Mom's.We are His too.We are all in the family of God, and next weekend,this family will be at the beach.I had two boys and a girl,by marriage, but when I met these Mom's,I became a Mother to 40 children!{We have a total of 30 Mom's,plus,with some losing 2 children}
(Probably even more) Only through the death of my son, would I have ever known these dear ladies.
