FLASH CARDS
I was not the brightest in my class, especially when it came to math! Yukko! Long about 4th grade, Mother saw the need to seek help in finding a tutor for me, with the aid of my best friend, and her helping me by using flash cards with math. I wasn't too keen on the idea, but since it was my best friend,I thought we might get in a good amount of play time, so I agreed!
WRONG! Tara was too commited to her goals.....
Tara equalled work!
Becky was too commited to playing.......
Becky equalled play
These did not necessarilly go together......(all the time)
And we're still best friends after 59 years, folks!
She's a Democrat and I'm a Republican........Go figure!
Anyhoo, I would get so mad, when she wouldn't play when I wanted to, that I would call her mother to come get her and take her home! (If I couldn't do it my way,I just wasn't gonna do it!....No siree!)
Today, this reminds me of the Israelites, and how stubborn they were, in the many ways they turned from God.....
Unfortunately, it also reminds me, that, as a nation, we haven't learned very much......
We are still a stubborn and a stiff necked people....
wanting our own way.......... I know I am!
No matter how many times, God tries to give us His clues;warnings;hints;and signs in His word,we just don't get it because we just want to play! All the signs are around us, but we won't recognize them, because we won't work at it.
Wish I could just call Him up to come pick us up and take us Home, like I did Tara's mother.......
Becky
